Cette décennie nous invite à intensifier drastiquement à l’échelle mondiale la restauration d’écosystèmes dégradés ou détruits, de façon à lutter contre les changements climatiques, à renforcer la biodiversité, la sécurité alimentaire et l’accès à l’eau potable.
La restauration des écosystèmes cadre parfaitement avec la mission de l’Association Canadienne de Réhabilitation des Sites Dégradés (ACRSD). En 2021 nous vous avons offert huit webinaires gratuits sur des sujets liés à la restauration écologique. INSCRIPTION
Création d’étangs temporaires pour la rainette faux-grillon de l’Ouest dans le Boisé du Tremblay à Boucherville, ainsi qu’en milieu agricole à Pontiac
Au cours des dernières années, différents projets de création d’étangs de reproduction ont été réalisés pour la rainette faux-grillon de l’Ouest. Dans le cadre de cette présentation, deux cas seront présentés, l’un en milieu naturel et l’autre en milieu agricole. Le premier a été réalisé suivant le travail d’un comité interdisciplinaire qui a documenté la littérature existante et établi des concepts fondamentaux qui facilitent la reproduction des rainettes. Ces bases scientifiques ont été par la suite utilisées pour planifier et réaliser les aménagements présentés.

Diplômé de l’Université de Montréal en géologie en 1992, Nicolas Roy détient aussi une maîtrise en sciences appliquées à la géologie de l’ingénieur (M.Sc.A.) obtenu à l’école polytechnique de Montréal. Son sujet de maîtrise portait sur l’étude comparative et l’efficacité de méthodes de protection des berges pour Hydro-Québec. Depuis, il a réalisé des experiences professionnelles dans les spécialités de la géomorphologie appliquée, en océanographie, en hydraulique fluviale et maritime, en hydrologie, en évaluation environnementale, en modélisation hydrodynamique et en aménagement des habitats aquatiques.
Il est maintenant directeur environnement du groupe-conseils Terraformex. Il participe à la conception et la réalisation de projets de restauration et de renaturalisation de berges, sites dégradés (autoroutier, mines, etc.) et milieux naturels (marais, berges, bandes riveraines, habitat du poisson, etc.). Il a réalisé de nombreux plans d’aménagement et des études spécialisées sur les milieux riverains et côtiers. Il réalise de plus régulièrement des plans et devis et la préparation de bordereau d’appel d’offres, prépare l’évaluation environnementale et effectue les suivis environnementaux de ces projets. Occasionnellement, il accompagne les clients dans le processus d’appel d’offres d’entrepreneurs et réalise la surveillance des travaux.
