B.C.’s 45th Annual Mine Reclamation Symposium

When: September 19-22, 2022

What: This year the BC TRCR is proud to present both, an in-person and virtual option.

The Symposium features two full days of in-person and online Technical Sessions, a half day Workshop, one day of mine tours and networking opportunities.

The workshop will be held on Monday, September 19, the Mine Tour takes place on Tuesday, September 20 and two days of Technical Sessions on Wednesday, September 21 and Thursday, September 22.

As a reminder, last year the Jake McDonald Annual Mine Reclamation Award was presented to Centerra Gold and Chu Cho Environmental as co-recipients for their ongoing research into innovative techniques to solve reclamation questions at the Mount Milligan Mine, and their partnership with local communities. Mount Milligan’s environmental team, which includes Indigenous members from Nak’azdli Whut’en First Nation and McLeod Lake Indian Band, co-hosted tours of Centerra Gold’s Endako and Kemess sites for local Indigenous Nations to identify successful reclamation methods from these “living labs” to evaluate their application at the Mount Milligan Mine. The experiences and lessons learned during the reclamation of the Kemess and Endako mines were leveraged into the development and implementation of a Proof-of-Concept reclamation demonstration field trial.
