Email on iOS and iPadOS

Starting October 2022 Microsoft will be disabling basic authentication for all customers using M365 email services.

If you have an iOS or iPadOS, hence combined into the term iOS, you will need to follow these instructions in order to ensure that your device will continue to be able to send and receive email after this change is made.

For all UNBC email accounts on your iOS device, you must remove the account.

  1. Settings > Mail > Accounts > Select the appropriate account > Delete Account
  2.  You can then re-add your account
  3. Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Add Account
  4. Select Exchange
  5. Enter your email address (Note: employees use your username@unbc.ca)
  6. Enter your password
  7. Choose the services you want to sync with your iOS device, and press Save

If you would like to try a feature rich mail application on your iOS device, ITS recommends and supports the Outlook for iOS application.
