RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH

The Bruce Birding Club is a group of avid birdwatchers based in Southampton, Bruce County, Ontario Canada. The group meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month except during the summer. A typical outing finds us greeting and arranging carpooling to get moving by 8:00. From the Boathouse in Southampton we head out convoy style connected by two way radios. We follow a route recently scouted by the day leader and make numerous stops for short hikes. We encourage members to be day leader and invite the group to an area they are most familiar with. This gives a different flavor to each outing and lets everyone discover new areas to bird. Weather dependent we bring a bagged lunch or stop at a restaurant at midday. More birding in the afternoon and return to the boathouse by 3 or 4 o'clock The outings are most often in Bruce County but several excursions each year take the group farther afield. A complete list of the birds seen over the club's history can be seen under HISTORIC BIRD LISTS. For info Contact; jaturland@gmail.com
