The purpose of these statistics is to provide the public with a brief overview of the types of calls for service and crime/occurrence types that the RCMP respond to at given times of the year.
The monthly statistics reported provides a year-to-date and monthly snapshot of Criminal Code of Canada violations across Manitoba and are meant to provide a general up-to-date account of crime activities.
Because these are snapshots, they do not include updates throughout the reporting process.
These totals will differ slightly from the official statistics provided each year by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics.

Caveats
Data is extracted from the RCMP Records Management System (PROS) and on the date of extraction it is an accurate reflection of reported and actual files and violations in D Division RCMP jurisdiction. Numbers in the tables reflect the values on the date of extraction and are subject to change as data is entered/updated into PROS. The data and statistical results are only as reliable as the data entered on the individual occurrences.
The totals in these tables reflect the total of the selected crime types/occurrences and are not inclusive of all of the crime types/occurrences that may have occurred during the reporting period.
The figures in the Calls for Service chart include all reported occurrences, including those that are unfounded. The remaining statistics by occurrence categories are actuals, which do not include occurrences deemed as unfounded. All data is extracted from the "Occurrences Statistics" report in PROS.
The sub-categories in the tables have been grouped by violation type, i.e. assaults includes all assaults except sexual assaults.
Not all Common Police Activities are criminal in nature, e.g. wellbeing check, etc.
The forcible confinement sub-category also includes kidnappings, hostages and abductions.
