David
Edward Hazzard

David Edward Hazzard (born November 7, 1953 in Chatham, Ontario) went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2021. He passed away at his home in Brampton, Ontario surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Stacey Hazzard (Hunter); his children and grandchildren: Joshua Hazzard (Esther), Gabriel, Imogen, Eloise, Noah; Jordan Hageman (Joshua), Clara, Calvin, Caleb; Bethany Van Kesteren (Philip), Hunter, Lilly, Davanie, Ila; and Luke Hazzard. He is predeceased by his parents, James Russell Hazzard and Margaret Hazzard (Houle). Also survived by his six sisters and five brothers, Pat (Gerry) Waring, Elaine (Al) Ikert, Jim (Anne) Hazzard, Merle (Shelly) Hazzard, Sandy (Perry) Routley, Mark (Valarie) Hazzard, Ruth (Todd) Manuel, Paul (Janet) Hazzard, Betty Green, Steve (Lisa) Hazzard, and Jan (Jonathan) Zinck.

His list of accomplishments is long, but they were all birthed from a heart to serve the kingdom of God in whatever capacity he could. His family is most proud of not what he achieved, but the lives he impacted. His greatest passions were his family, the poor, the lost, and training future leaders. He used his 67 years here on earth to the utmost, pouring every last drop of his life to serve the cause of Christ as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, student, teacher, pastor, and leader. He was dearly loved by so many people because he loved people. One of his favourite sayings was, "People are precious." Anyone who met David felt his love and interest in them as a person. The outpouring of love and support from all those who knew David has been overwhelming and his family is so grateful for each message expressed and prayer that's been prayed.

To the medical team that cared so well for David—from the hospital teams (Dr. Patel and Dr. Yokom) to the in-home care team (Margaret, Beatrice, & Christiana)—the family expresses their heartfelt thanks.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the David Hazzard Memorial Fund where the family has selected three organizations near to David and Stacey's heart. These are explained in the link provided :

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
