#ManitobaMondays – Minnedosa

Manitoba Mondays – Minnedosa

Staying close to home this summer? If you are planning on exploring our beautiful and vast province this season, why not show some love and support to our incredible women entrepreneurial community?

#ManitobaMondays can help! It’s our second season of the series where we share weekly highlights of women-owned and partnered businesses to add to your must-see list while you #exploreMB.

Today we are taking you through a community known for its “valley life”. Welcome to Minnedosa, MB!

Minnedosa, MB

Situated in Treaty 2 territory in the rural municipality of Minto-Odanah, Minnedosa offers many recreational options to stay and play during both the summer and winter months.

The town originally named “Tanner’s Crossing” was later renamed “Minnedosa” which is a Sioux word that translates as “flowing water”.

Incorporated in 1883, Minnedosa is now a thriving and picturesque town of approximately 2,500 people and is only 30 minutes north of the City of Brandon and 30 minutes south of Riding Mountain National Park.

With so many places and women-owned businesses to explore, you can see why a new adventure awaits you in this Manitoban town!

Stop #1 | Farmhouse 50

Owned by Meaghan & Jamie Cann, Farmhouse is a must-visit anytime you’re passing through or visiting the town of Minnedosa.

Not only can you pick up a variety of locally made products (and thus support even more local artisans and businesses), you can also grab a meal, a pastry or a drink from their fantastic on-site restaurant.

Take your visit to the next level by staying in the quaint and cute Farmhouse Loft, located above the store!

Stop #2 | Femme Fatale Beauty Co.

Get a boost of self-confidence by planning a stop into Femme Fatale Beauty Co. during your visit to Minnedosa.

Owned by Karlie Boultbee, the beauty shop maintains a zero-judgement policy and encompasses women empowerment in everything they do.

Take some time for self-care with a brow lamination or lash lift treatment, or simply shop an array of fantastic beauty products in store.

Stop #3 | Boho Soul Market

Owned and operated by licensed practical nurse and entrepreneur Magen Swift, Boho Soul Kombucha was born from a desire to help others live healthier lifestyles. After perfecting her own Kombucha process through trial and error, Magen made the leap to a brick-and-mortar commercial location in 2019.

Today, the shop offers its signature flavours of Raspberry Lemon, Blueberry Ginger, Hibiscus Lime, Tangerine Mint as well as a wide variety of on-tap flavours.

Community Supporter Highlight

As we close off this week’s #ManitobaMondays feature, we’re giving a shoutout to Apple + Pine Market which is owned and operated by two Minnedosian entrepreneurs: Cass and Michelle. Every year, the Apple and Pine Market supports countless women entrepreneurs throughout the province. Mark your calendars for the next market on November 27 and 28, 2021!
