SickKids hires a new CEO

Jennifer Bernard has been selected as SickKids Foundation’s new CEO by the Hospital for Sick Children and SickKids Foundation board of directors. She’ll take on the role starting in April.

Bernard has a long history in the non-profit healthcare sector, and most recently served as the Women’s College Hospital Foundation’s president and CEO. Previously, she held senior roles with the Ontario Science Centre and the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Restaurant Brands International’s CEO starts next month

Joshua Kobza has signed on as Restaurant Brands International’s new CEO, effective March 1.

Kobza has been with the company for 11 years in increasingly senior roles including CFO, COO and others. He was involved in the acquisitions of Tim Hortons in 2014, Popeyes in 2017 and Firehouse Subs in 2021.

Now, Kobza will report to executive chairman Patrick Doyle. RBI’s former CEO, Jose Cil, will remain with the company as an advisor to assist with the transition for one year.

Buffalo Wild Wing’s VP brand management promoted to CMO

Tristan Meline has been appointed CMO at Buffalo Wild Wings, where he’ll lead advertising, marketing, planning, menu development and brand experience efforts.

Previously, Meline was Buffalo Wild Wing’s VP brand management, a role he held since September 2021. Meline replaces Rita Patel, who’s taken on the role of CMO at sister brand Arby’s.

Transat appoints new chief people, sustainability and communications officer

Transat has announced that Julie Lamontagne will be its chief people, sustainability and communications officer. In her role which starts March 13, she will be responsible for developing and deploying corporate culture initiatives and labour relations. She’ll also lead talent attraction, retention and mobilization, as well as oversee corporate responsibility programs and internal/external communications.

Lamontagne brings over 20 years experience as an HR professional, as well as 12 years in executive roles on management committees.
