CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta Health is asking anyone who recently travelled to Hubei, China to stay home.
In an update Thursday morning, Chief Medical officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw said any Albertans who returned from that region in the last couple weeks are encouraged to isolate themselves at home for 14 days after leaving the region
Hinshaw said this is a precautionary measure, following the advice of the Public Health Agency of Canada

Alberta Health said there are currently no confirmed or presumptive cases of the virus in Alberta though 18 people have been tested. Dr. Hinshaw said those tests came back negative.
Health Minister Tyler Shandro expects only a small number of Albertans are required to stay home given the restricted travel measures in China and the precautionary moves already in place in the province.
As of Feb 5, only four confirmed of the virus have surfaced in Canada, two other Canadians onboard a cruise ship currently quarantined in Japan have also tested positive.
