Alberta’s vaccine record will be updated to meet the recommended Canadian standard for domestic and international travel. The updated record will be available Nov. 24 at alberta.ca/CovidRecords. It also includes middle names and the record is in both official languages.

There is no need for Albertans who already have a QR code vaccine record to save or reprint the updated version if they do not intend to travel. Albertans can continue to use their already saved vaccine record with a QR code to access local businesses and venues taking part in the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP).

Alberta’s QR code scanning app will recognize both the current and updated QR code vaccine record.

Albertans planning to travel need to check the required travel documents with the Government of Canada and their destination ahead of any interprovincial or international travel.

Albertans can get a printed vaccine record with QR code at no cost by visiting a registry agent office or by calling 811.

Accepted proof of vaccination for REP: non-Alberta records

Patrons vaccinated outside Canada, including international travellers, can use their out-of-country vaccine records along with a valid ID such as a passport. Patrons vaccinated in other provinces and territories are required to use their jurisdictions’ vaccine records with a QR code, as other forms of records are no longer accepted in the REP.

Alberta businesses and venues are strongly encouraged to use the AB Covid Records Verifier app to confirm their patrons’ vaccination status meets the REP requirements. If the app shows a ‘record not valid’ or ‘record not found’ message, the patron will not be able to enter a venue. The app can scan records with QR codes issued by other provinces and territories as well as Canadian Armed Forces records.

For adults 18 years and older, businesses must check for a valid ID that matches the name and date of birth on the vaccine record with any accepted type of proof of vaccination.

  • Currently, access to alberta.ca/CovidRecords is restricted to within Canada. Limiting the access to Canada is one of many tools used to help secure public websites, protect Albertans’ information and reduce the risk of cybersecurity attacks.
  • Albertans do not need to create an account to get their records through alberta.ca/CovidRecords. They only need to enter the month and year of vaccination of any dose, Alberta Personal Health Number and date of birth. It may take two weeks for the record to be available after getting immunized.
  • Previous Alberta immunization records without a QR code, including ones from vaccine providers and those saved from MyHealth Records, are no longer accepted as proof of vaccination under the Restrictions Exemption Program.
  • Anyone who has missing or incorrect information on their vaccine record or has problems accessing it can go to alberta.ca/CovidRecordsHelp.
  • Currently, 38 out of 48 First Nations can access the vaccine record with a QR code through alberta.ca/CovidRecords. Alberta will continue to work with the remaining First Nations to add their immunization records in the coming weeks.
  • Proof of vaccinations for members of the Canadian Armed Forces will continue to be accepted.
  • Creating or using a false vaccination record is an offence subject to prosecution and/or fines of up to $100,000 for a first-time offence.

À compter du 24 novembre, les Albertains qui prévoient de voyager peuvent télécharger un passeport vaccinal mis à jour muni d’un code QR à utiliser au Canada et à l’étranger.

Le passeport vaccinal de l’Alberta sera mis à jour pour répondre à la norme canadienne recommandée pour les voyages nationaux et internationaux. Le dossier mis à jour sera accessible le 24 novembre à alberta.ca/CovidRecords. Il comprend également les seconds prénoms et l’enregistrement se fait dans les deux langues officielles.

Les Albertains qui possèdent déjà un passeport vaccinal à code QR n’ont pas besoin de sauvegarder ou de réimprimer la version actualisée s’ils n’ont pas l’intention de voyager. Les Albertains peuvent continuer à utiliser leur passeport vaccinal déjà enregistré avec un code QR pour entrer dans des commerces et des lieux locaux participant au programme d’exemption des restrictions (REP).

Les Albertains qui prévoient de voyager doivent vérifier les documents de voyage requis auprès du gouvernement du Canada et de leur destination avant tout voyage interprovincial ou international.

Les Albertains peuvent obtenir gratuitement un passeport vaccinal imprimé avec un code QR en se rendant dans un bureau d’enregistrement ou en composant le 8-1-1.

Preuve de vaccination acceptée pour le REP : dossiers de l’extérieur de l’Alberta

Les clients vaccinés à l’étranger, y compris les voyageurs internationaux, peuvent utiliser leur passeport vaccinal à l’étranger ainsi qu’une pièce d’identité valide, comme un passeport. Les clients vaccinés dans d’autres provinces et territoires doivent utiliser le passeport vaccinal à code QR de leur compétence, car les autres formes de passeport ne sont plus acceptées dans le cadre du REP.

Les entreprises et les établissements de l’Alberta sont vivement encouragés à utiliser l’application AB Covid Records Verifier pour confirmer que le statut vaccinal de leurs clients répond aux exigences du REP. Si l’application affiche un message « enregistrement non valide » ou « enregistrement non trouvé », l’utilisateur ne pourra pas entrer dans l’établissement. L’application peut numériser des documents munis de codes QR émis par d’autres provinces et territoires ainsi que des documents des Forces armées canadiennes.

Les entreprises doivent faire correspondre le nom et la date de naissance figurant sur une pièce d’identité valide avec ceux du passeport vaccinal. Cette règle s’applique aux adultes de 18 ans et plus.

  • L’accès à alberta.ca/CovidRecords se limite actuellement au Canada. Le fait de limiter l’accès au Canada est l’un des nombreux outils dont on se sert pour sécuriser les sites Web publics, protéger les renseignements des Albertains et réduire le risque d’attaques de cybersécurité.
  • Les Albertains n’ont pas à créer de compte pour obtenir leurs dossiers par l’intermédiaire du site alberta.ca/CovidRecords. Il leur suffit d’indiquer le mois et l’année de l’une de leur vaccination, leur numéro de santé personnel de l’Alberta et leur date de naissance. Il faudra compter jusqu’à deux semaines pour obtenir son dossier après la vaccination.
