NEDIC: Spotting the Signs & Supporting Someone Affected

Feb 02, 2022 |12:00-1:00

Are you struggling with an eating disorder, or do you want to support someone that is, but you don’t know where to start NEDIC is here to provide some tips.

Health Services and Counselling Services welcomes all AC members to block off their lunch break on February 2 to learn more about eating disorders and how we can support those we care about most. We understand that this is a complicated and nuanced issue. So, an expert from The National Eating Disorder Information Centre will be here to educate us on the topic and answer your questions.

About Ary Maharaj from NEDIC: Ary Maharaj (he/him) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Master of Education in Counselling & Psychotherapy program. He currently works as NEDIC’s Outreach and Education Coordinator, where he strives to take a preventative, proactive approach to helping people with their relationship with food and weight, while buffering them from developing an eating disorder. In this 60-minute session, we’ll follow a recognize, respond, refer, reflect framework to help you learn to spot the signs and support students who may be struggling with disordered eating.

See you there!
