Forbes has listed South Dakota as one of the ten riskiest states to visit right now.

South Dakota is reporting 154.5 new daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people on a weekly average, according to the Harvard-Brown risk-assessment tool

Any state with more than 25 new daily cases per 100,000 people is considered "at a tipping point", Forbes said. South Dakota's risk level is more than 500% above that threshold.

The state's active case numbers surpassed over 19,000 on Sunday to 19,360, according to the South Dakota Department of Health.

On Saturday, the state had a record breaking 53 COVID-19 related deaths. Followed by 23 more deaths on Sunday to bring the total number since the start of the pandemic to 644, the Department of Health reports.

The other states mentioned in the list are North Dakota, Iowa, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois, Minnesota, Utah, and Kansas.
