Backgrounder: Eastern Ontario businesses, community spaces and tourism organizations to receive more than $16.5 million 

Backgrounder

Today, the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), along with Francis Drouin, Member of Parliament for Glengarry–Prescott–Russell, announced a total investment of more than $16.5 million for 30 projects across Eastern Ontario. These investment will be made through the Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF), the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) and the Tourism Relief Fund (TRF) and will help local businesses to scale up, create and rejuvenate community spaces, as well as enhance tourism attractions to welcome more visitors, create jobs and build stronger, more vibrant communities.

This investment includes support for the following projects:

Les Ateliers Beau-Roc Expand a new, energy-efficient factory to boost production of its Multi-Purpose Heavy Duty (MPHD) & Stainless Steel  dump truck bodies, allowing the company to respond to increased product demand, while also cutting delivery lead times in half. $4,100,000 JGF
Fieldless Farms Inc. Support the company’s growth and diversification plans through the deployment of a world-leading produce-growing system and the development of a fully automated in-house processing and packaging line for the production of environmentally sustainable, high-quality, domestic leafy-green food products. $2,500,000 JGF
La Cité de Clarence Upgrade the Bourget Community Centre to increase accessibility, reduce environmental footprint, and revive the Bourget community. $85,000 CCRF
Corporation de revitalisation du centre Construct accessible washrooms at High Falls Park in Casselman. $75,000 CCRF
Corporation of the City of Cornwall Upgrade and extend recreation path lighting in Lamoureux Park to increase safety, accessibility and overall usability of the park year-round. $345,000 CCRF
Corporation of the City of Cornwall Expand a multi-use recreational path in Cornwall. $150,000 CCRF
Corporation of the Nation Municipality Assist in building a new sports complex in Limoges, including a community centre, walking track, and soccer fields. $750,000 CCRF
Corporation Of The Town Of Hawkesbury Support the improvement of the downtown core and Place des Pionniers Park. $125,500 CCRF
Corporation of the Township of North Glengarry Support the expansion and installation of accessible features at Alexandria Skate Park. $275,000 CCRF
Glengarry Fencibles Trust Revitalize the foyer and the central rooms of the Bishop’s House for public use and ensure accessibility. $25,786 CCRF
Municipality of South Dundas Renovate Matilda Hall to enhance accessibility. $42,420 CCRF
Municipality of South Dundas Retrofit waterfront public washrooms to enhance accessibility. $53,077 CCRF
The Corporation of the Township of Champlain Replace the ice rink at Vankleek Hill Community Centre and Arena. $750,000 CCRF
The Corporation Of The Township Of East Hawkesbury Contribute to the construction of an accessible, multi-purpose community centre in St-Eugene. $483,750 CCRF
The Corporation of the Township of Russell Improve the accessibility of the sidewalk network. $250,000 CCRF
The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet Support the construction of a new BMX bike park in Wendover. $120,000 CCRF
Township of North Stormont Support the usability and greening of the operations of the Finch Arena. $69,206 CCRF
Township of North Stormont Contribute to the construction of a new accessible, energy-efficient community centre in Moose Creek. $750,000 CCRF

Township of South Stormont Support the design and construction of a new play structure and accessible swing set at Maple Street Park. $37,500 CCRF
Township of South Stormont Expand the multi-use path located in Arnold Bethune Park. $177,000 CCRF
