Artemis Gold says they are expecting to receive a BC Mines Act Permit for their Blackwater Gold Mine early this year.
Located south of Burns Lake, the project is projected to produce 321,000 ounces of gold annually in the first 5 years of its 23 year life.
Initially, the company had intended to receive the permit last Fall, but it is now expected for the first quarter of this year.
Despite the delay, Artemis still plans to begin major construction activities by the end of the quarter, as scheduled.
Last quarter saw the completion of site clearing and grubbing activities over the mine’s 23 hectare footprint, and the beginning of earthworks and erosion control.
It also saw them complete levelling work and begin installation of a work camp, which will house 475 personnel upon completion.
