CITE Conference

CITE, the Conference of Independent Teachers of English, supports the teaching and learning of English, media studies and drama at CIS Ontario member schools. A professional conference is held annually, which also celebrates the publication of INCITE, an anthology of student writing and visual art facilitated by CITE.

CITE Conference 2024

The CITE Conference brings together English teachers from across the province for a day of collaboration, inspiration, and professional learning. We believe in the power of shared knowledge and diverse perspectives to enhance the educational experience for both educators and students.

On April 27th from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at The Country Day School the CIS Ontario CITE Conference, will explore Literacy in the Digital Age: Reimagining the Future of English Education with keynote speaker Ramona Pringle, CBC Technology analyst and columnist. The event features 13 workshops and offers insights into integrating digital tools and fostering digital literacy skills in English education. View our conference schedule here.

CITE Conference 2023

The first in-person CITE conference in three years took place at Appleby College in Oakville, on Saturday, April 22nd. It was a day of  compelling conversation, workshops, and opportunities for renewing real connections between CIS Ontario colleagues.
