2022 Gather Roundtable Series

This year, Gather will be curating a series of global roundtable discussions to provide an inclusive platform in the global sanitation sector to advocate for changes to the global data landscape. We will be holding three roundtables on a variety of topics within development, technology and sanitation. We will be holding our roundtables in different languages, in English and French.

Roundtable 1 (held in English): The State of Global Development: Whose Voices are Heard?

In this roundtable, we aim to move away from identifying the dominant voices, which we know are the Global North, towards identifying what specific perspectives and voices are missing. We will be exploring how we can promote cross-sectoral collaboration in dismantling Global North dominance.

Roundtable 2 (held in English): Debates on Open Data: Risky or Beneficial?

In the second roundtable of our series, we will be discussing the merits and harms of open data across sectors. As the world technologically grows, we aim to look into who does open data benefit and which communities and people can it pose a risk for?

Roundtable 3 (held in French): WASH Data and COVID/ L’EHA, Les Données, et COVID (en français)

Durant la session finale parmi une série de discussions, nous nous concentrerons sur les données, en particulier sur le suivi des données COVID par le secteur EHA. En explorant ce sujet en français, nous discuterons des données relatives aux taux de COVID et leur lien avec l'assainissement dans les pays francophones.
