Our thoughts are with those affected by fires in several communities across British Columbia each year, including those from #Lytton and surrounding areas. On June 30th, as many as 1,500 local and Nlaka'pamux First Nation residents were told to evacuate due to a devasting wildfire, leaving many to flee without their belongings. Here are a few ways you can join us in supporting those affected: 1) Donate: https://lnkd.in/gYvdjbg 2) Physical donations can be dropped off at locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope, and Aldergrove. Donation inquiries can be made to the Hope Visitor Centre at 604-869-2021. **If you have been separated from family members as a result of fires in British Columbia, or are looking for someone that has been impacted or displaced, please call the BC Fires Family Reunification Line at 1-800-863-6582. This service is available from 8 am to 8 pm PT, 7 days a week.** #CommunitiesHelpingCommunities #BCWildfireRelief

Our very own Chris Potorieko will be speaking at the CASPEO DAYS 2024 Conference in Orleans, France! This year, the conference will explore the pivotal role of data reconciliation in ensuring a unified and accurate dataset that forms the bedrock of decision-making. Register below 🔽
▶ Meet Our Speaker! - We're pleased to announce Chris Potorieko, Process Supervisor & Metallurgist at JDS Group of Companies Energy & Mining, as one of our distinguished speakers at the CASPEO DAYS 2024 conference! Chris will be sharing insights on the use of BILCO data reconciliation by mass balance software for process plant recommissioning. Process plants are periodically placed on care and maintenance during their lifetime. When these plants restart the production team can look at the restart in two ways: Restart the plant exactly as it was before the shutdown or they utilize the restart as an opportunity to look at potential improvements. During a recent Canadian restart in Northern British Columbia, the process plant team reviewed the restart data and utilized BILCO data reconciliation by mass balance software to make improvements. The presentation will highlight improvements done to the grinding circuit at this mine utilizing circuit sampling and the information obtained by using BILCO. ▶ 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗹𝗲́𝗮𝗻𝘀 (𝗟𝗼𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘅 - 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲) 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, a conference to leverage the power of data reconciliation, simulation, modeling, and metal accounting, "On the path towards Intelligent Mining". 🔶 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻: 29-30 May 2024 🔶 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Orléans city in France 👉 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: https://lnkd.in/eFHw8M8R #Mining #Mineria #Minería #MiningEngineering #MiningExploration #Metallurgy

JDS would like to congratulate the Montana Tech - Mining Engineering Teams on their performance in the 46th Intercollegiate Mining Competition this past week in Butte, Montana, taking first place overall with their Men's A Team. JDS also extends its congratulations to all competitors for braving the daily wind, snow, sleet, and sun to compete in the competition, providing representation from Canada, The UK, Australia, and the USA. JDS thanks Montana Technological University for hosting the competition at the ever improving underground mine education center (UMEC) and providing the opportunity for JDS to support and judge the competition. This event provides an excellent way for the Mining Industry to engage with the public and also provides a forum for students, companies and professionals to come together and celebrate the history of mining through competition and fun.

Thanks for sharing, Claire Kincaid! We're glad you had a great time at #minexchange2024!
Being on a 2/2 rotation can be isolating-- you can get so wrapped up in your own site that it's hard to see what's going on everywhere else, and it can be difficult to nurture your professional and social connections--which just makes conferences that much more important. That's why I was so happy to have been able to attend and present at MinExchange 2024! I had a wonderful time reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, and I was delighted to be able to share good news on the continuing efforts for DEI in the mining industry. #sme2024

On behalf of our Civil Tunneling Team, we are pleased to announce the successful breakthrough of the north pedestrian underpass at the Broadway Subway Project – Broadway City Hall Station. While final ground support and clean-up work remains, this successful breakthrough marks a significant milestone in the execution of JDS’s current scopes in the Broadway City Hall Station. Our tunneling team has overcome many technical challenges in the completion of this milestone including, most notably, -Extremely tight design tolerances with respect to existing services and the Canada Line. -Extremely limited working area and staging areas. -Winter work conditions, and sub-zero temperatures. -Numerous interdependent work fronts. Through all of the above, the JDS project leadership and personnel have shown exceptional resolve and adaptability to ensure this project continued to move forward safely and practically with our client's interests in mind. #TheJDSWay #ProjectSpotlight #tunneling
