Meet Luisa Oliveira! 💫 She embodies the resilience of farmers in the Dry Corridor of Central America, where agriculture faces constant challenges, especially with the impacts of El Niño. Rather than succumb to the challenges, Luisa embraces them as opportunities. She diversifies her farm's activities to ensure she can make a living and help feed her community regardless of the unpredictable climate. "Climate change is complicated; the rainy season is sometimes good, sometimes bad, it comes late, it ends early, so we have to work on other things, do alternative activities to survive,” she says. Across Gaza, men, women, and children are on the brink of famine, without access to clean water and facing unsanitary conditions. The streets are flooded with sewage water, creating conditions that are ripe for an explosion of deadly diseases. Healthcare is practically nonexistent. Action Against Hunger teams are doing everything possible to respond to the rising crisis. Families are being forced to evacuate Rafah, a city where over 1.5 million people have been sheltering, and head to Al Mawasi, a stretch of land only half a mile wide. So far, around 100,000 people in the eastern part of Rafah have received orders to evacuate, including several members of Action Against Hunger’s staff. One of Action Against Hunger’s emergency team members, who recently returned from Gaza, says that over a million people in Rafah have “already lost everything: their houses, their savings, everything they built in recent decades. The main focus of this position is to support the Finance and Administration Director and departments in achieving their objectives by identifying issues, recommending solutions, providing financial transparency and value-added financial assessments.
