My German and my poetry were once so good, that my poem was picked by a writer and poet from Austria and published in a magazine about literature and culture, Triëdere - Zeitschrift für Theorie, Literatur und Kunst. It was published in the section "non-native German speakers´ literature": Aktuelle Ausgabe (2): (#21) Literatur von Nichtmuttersprachlernneni, and it's even more stunning, as German is my 4th language so far. But is the burning passion, after all these years. https://lnkd.in/dfiR3b3c

📚 Within the context of "The Conversation of Mankind," Michael Oakeshott discusses poetry and other human activities as integral parts of humanity's ongoing conversation. He recognizes poetry as a form of expression that transcends mere utility or rationality, allowing us to explore the depths of human experience and convey insights that cannot be fully articulated through conceptual language. In addition to poetry, Oakeshott values other human activities such as art, religion, philosophy, and even everyday activities like gardening or carpentry, as significant contributions to the human conversation. In his view, these activities enrich our understanding of the world and connect us with deeper aspects of human existence that go beyond utilitarianism or the pursuit of technical knowledge. Therefore, for Oakeshott, poetry and other human activities are not just forms of entertainment or distraction, but essential parts of the fabric of culture and civilization, enabling us to explore and express the mysteries and complexities of the human condition. #teoriadaliteratura
