If you're applying for full-time funding through Alberta Student Aid
NAIT will begin to confirm registration with Alberta Student Aid 30 days before your program start date. The confirmation of registration process will create a Sponsorship Code for your NAIT account. You should be able to view the Sponsorship Code via your MyNAIT portal 2 business days before the tuition payment deadline of each term.
You will receive an e-letter in your MyNAIT portal with further information once the student loan or approved funding confirmation has been completed.
Once your loan has been confirmed, you can view your anticipated Alberta Student Aid funding
- Login to your MyNAIT Portal.
- Under Self Service, Financial Account, select Charges Due in the menu.
- Pending Financial Aid should be noted.
If all the information above is correct and all of your fees are covered by the amount listed in your Sponsorship Code, please do not pay. Any refunds for overpayment will take at least 6 to 8 weeks to process after NAIT has received your student aid payments.
It takes several weeks for NAIT to receive and apply the funds from Alberta Student Aid to your account. Until then, your account will show this amount as an overdue charge. This is normal and will not have a negative impact on you as long as your Sponsorship Code is correct.
If you do not see a Sponsorship Code 2 business days before the tuition payment deadline or if you have any questions about the information in your Sponsorship Code, please contact us.
If you're applying for part-time funding through Alberta Student Aid
If your part-time Alberta Student Aid application has been approved, NAIT will receive your part-time loan certificate directly from the government. Once received, we will remit the funding if the amount will cover all of the tuition and fees owing. A Sponsorship Code will be added to your NAIT account. If the approved amount of your loan is less than the amount you owe for the term, all of the funding will go directly to you and you will be required to pay all of the outstanding tuition and fees by the tuition deadline.
*The Certificate of Eligibility is a 4-page carbon copy form that Alberta Student Aid will mail to you once your funding application has been approved.
You can view the Sponsorship Code on your MyNAIT Portal
- Login to your MyNAIT Portal
- Select Open Self Service, select Financial Account
- Click Fees & Payments
- Select Holds & Funding in the menu
- Click on the Sponsorship Code for the appropriate term (for example: Winter 2018), and confirm the following information:

- Reason: You should see “Student Loan Funding”
- Amount: The amount listed is the amount that NAIT will be receiving from Alberta Student Aid to pay for your tuition and fees. This amount should match the amount you currently owe for the term.
If all of your fees are covered by the amount listed in your Sponsorship Code, please do not make any payments on your account. Refunds for overpayment will take 6 to 8 weeks to process.
