End of Year Giving 2022

End of Year Giving Make a Difference

Thank You!

We would like to thank everyone who supported our Giving Tuesday and end of year appeal. Together, the Nipissing Community raised $15,895 towards Indigenous Scholarships and Bursaries.

Your generosity provides Nipissing’s Indigenous students, many of whom face significant financial barriers, with the opportunity to realize their full potential by providing much needed financial relief. Advancing the educational outcomes for Indigenous students and eliminating financial barriers is critical work that must be done to fulfill the promise of reconciliation.

What is End of Year Giving

As the holiday season approaches, many community members are extending their generosity to support causes that matter the most to them. Nipissing University understands the need for financial support for Indigenous students and has decided to extend their Giving Tuesday initiatives to our End of Year Giving appeal. This giving season, please consider a tax-deductible donation in support of Indigenous Students at Nipissing University.

Who does my donation help?

The Mino-Bimaadiziwin Cultural Development Bursary is designed to support Indigenous student cultural revitalization as a way of creating space where balance can be pursued through Indigenous ways of knowing and learning.

The establishment of the Nipissing First Nation Scholarship will help to remove financial barriers and to ensure Nipissing First Nation students have access to an enriching and supportive education from Nipissing University.

Did you know:

A lack of financial resources is one of the greatest barriers to completing post-secondary education for Canadian Indigenous people. Many students travel from remote First Nations to attend Nipissing, which can be costly. Many of Nipissing’s Indigenous learners are also mature students and parents who must balance the costs of attending university with those of raising a family. Nipissing’s priority is to respond to this need by providing scholarships and bursaries to eligible Indigenous students. Advancing the educational outcomes for Indigenous students and eliminating financial barriers is critical work that must be done to fulfill the promise of reconciliation.
