The series is intended to enhance our curriculum approaches to Sustainable Futures and to develop further resources with, by, and for faculty. This series is supported by the OCAD U Sustainability Committee. To access the Teams event links please email Victoria Ho (vho@ocadu.ca), Sustainability Coordinator.

Languages of Sustainability
Friday June 25
9:30am-11:00am

Open to all students, faculty, and staff.
Online via Teams

We invite you into a discussion to consider what is sustainability? What has it meant in the past and what are the implications? Recognizing that mainstream sustainability movements have had fraught relationships with Indigenous communities and their ways of being. Let’s question the messaging of who leads, who is included, and who benefits from calls to sustainability. This session invites students, faculty, and staff to reflect on and to move forward with this work through OCAD University's Guiding Principles: Relationship, Respect, Responsibility, Reciprocity. Co-facilitated by Nadia McLaren and Peter Morin.

For more info, please email Victoria Ho (vho@ocadu.ca), Sustainability Coordinator.

Sharing Sustainability Teaching Strategies

Building on the Exploration session, faculty are invited to join on June 30 to share in small groups about their specific teaching methods (e.g. Suggested readings, Assignments, Assessment Rubrics). Students are encouraged to share their experiences and ideas. Facilitated by Sustainability Committee members Natalie Waldburger and Michael Lee Poy.

If you intend to share presentation slides, please RSVP by email to Victoria Ho (vho@ocadu.ca), Sustainability Coordinator.
