On Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 at 6 p.m., Andrea Horwath and the Ontario NDP Caucus will be hosting a Virtual Summit on Long-Term Care, bringing together stakeholders, community members, family members and advocates on this important issue.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were major cracks in long-term care, from seniors hospitalized for dehydration and malnourishment, residents who were in their beds for days and developed horrifying bed sores, to frontline workers pleading with the government for more staff. This pandemic has finally lifted the veil on the many problems we all know exist in the system. Specifically, the horrifying revelations within the Canadian Military report that included reused needles and catheters, serving rotten food, and leaving residents without baths or basic hygiene.
We can do so much better in our province and build the better future we all envision.
Join us for this opportunity to be a part of the conversation on transforming Long-Term Care in Ontario.
