We want your used clothing, footwear and linens.

Did you know 85% of all textiles end up in landfills despite 95% being fully recyclable? Currently, there are approximately 500 million pounds of textiles sitting in Canadian landfills. Textiles put tremendous strain on our environment. Decomposing clothing and other household materials release methane, a harmful greenhouse gas and significant contributor to global warming.  Recycling Rewards has been diverting textiles from landfills since 2005.

FOLLOW THESE 3 EASY STEPS

Step 1

Determine your collection day.

Step 2

Place your items in a large, clear bag.***

Step 3

Place your items on your scheduled day no later than 7 am, rain or shine. Pick up time is from 7am to 5pm

***In response to feedback from Barrie residents, textiles can be placed in any type of waterproof plastic bag. Please print off the following poster and attach it to your bag, or add a note that says TEXTILES and attach it to the bag.

What happens to donated items:

Your donations will directly support the Cornerstone to Recovery, a non-profit, charitable agency that provides community-based recovery programs for individuals and families experiencing and impacted by addiction. Our collection will link those wishing to part with unwanted reusable goods, with those in need of them.
