Bio

Michael Singer advises clients on a wide variety of antitrust matters related to mergers and acquisitions, including representing clients before the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission. Mr. Singer has worked with clients across a diverse range of industries, including aerospace and defense, consumer products, technology, health care, pharmaceuticals, financial services and private equity. His representations include:

  • Stryker Corporation in its $5.4 billion acquisition of Wright Medical Group
  • DuPont in its $45.4 billion merger of its Nutrition & Biosciences business with International Flavors and Fragrances Inc.
  • Red Hat, Inc. in its $34 billion acquisition by IBM

Mr. Singer also provides general antitrust counseling and has advised clients on a variety of matters, including joint ventures, strategic alliances, unilateral conduct, and pricing and distribution issues.

Additionally, Mr. Singer routinely represents veterans on a pro bono basis in applications and appeals for compensation and benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as not-for-profits in connection with incorporation and formation issues. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law, where he teaches a class on antitrust and cross-border mergers, and is a frequent contributor to the ABA Antitrust Law Section, Joint Conduct Committee’s “The Quick Look” newsletter.

Mr. Singer was named one of Best Lawyers 2024 Ones To Watch. He also won Best Business Article (General Economics) at Concurrences’ 2024 Antitrust Writing Awards for “Private Equity and Competition — Comparing U.S. Agency Views to Recent Policy and Empirical Evidence,” co-authored with Kenneth Schwartz and Isabel Tecu.
