Environmental, Social and Governance

We act as the bridge between Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data providers, on the one hand, and ETF providers, investment banks and investors on the other. Over the years, we have developed expertise in the construction of ESG-themed index strategies, converting raw ESG data provided by external parties into investable indices, while at the same time ensuring the correct implementation of our clients' ideas and needs.

Sustainable Index Development

Solactive has extensive experience in working with various ESG providers and a number of international clients in the equity and fixed income space. With the advantage provided by our open architecture, we have partnered with several ESG providers to cover a wide variety of ESG-related topics. Given our flexibility to customize indices in this space, we are able to apply different selection methodologies and also focus on specific themes, like low carbon and gender equality.

How We Help to Save the Planet

Our expertise in the construction of ESG indices, flexibility, and cost-efficient business models enables us to be drivers of ESG in the growing passive investment market, further stimulating demand. This serves both long-established institutional companies and new investment shops, and actively shapes the future of sustainable investing. Importantly, at Solactive we regard ESG not only as a product for our clients but as something we truly believe in. It’s the right thing to do.

  • Saving Resources

We encourage sustainable behavior in our employees through initiatives like reusable coffee cups, "Think before you print" campaigns, and prompt the separation of waste and reduced usage of packaged food.

  • Reducing Carbon Emissions

More than 90 percent of our employees walk, cycle, or use public transportation to get to their workplace.

  • Diversity

We represent over 46 different nationalities in five different business locations, and promote the balanced recruitment and career advancement of men and women.

Solactive is a proud signatory to the Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance (PIIF) – a responsible investment framework housed within the PRI initiative for investors focused on expanding access to affordable and responsible financial products and services to those traditionally excluded.
