We hire people who have “GRIP”

We have identified four necessary attitudes that every current and future employee must have in order to succeed in this company. These are summed up by the word GRIP, with each letter representing an attitude.

G o-getter

A go-getter is someone with a positive attitude. It’s someone who does not see only the dark but who sees the light. When there is a problem, the go-getter speaks in terms of opportunities or challenges. A go-getter is a person of action, who does not say: “I’d need to, or I’m going to try…” but rather “I’m going to do it.” A go-getter always compares himself to the best and looks for ways to improve himself. A go-getter has self-confidence and is capable of recognizing his shortcomings as well as his successes. Finally, a go-getter sets objectives for himself and works out the way to achieve them.

R enders service

A person who wants to render service is always listening to others (80/20). A person who wants to render service is a volunteer. He doesn’t wait for anyone to ask for his help; he offers it. His greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that he helped someone, that he responded to someone’s needs – in short, that he made someone’s life or work a little easier (whether for an in-house customer or an outside one).

I nnovative

Someone who innovates is a person who is comfortable with questioning procedures, practices and policies. It’s someone who says: “Surely there’s a better way to do things,” rather than “We’ve always done it that way.” The innovator does not accept the status quo. An innovator is someone who asks questions, who takes an interest, a curious person. An innovator feels comfortable sharing his ideas, and even selling them.

P assionate

A passionate person is excited and enthusiastic when talking about the subject that he is passionate about. A person passionate about his job views it as a place where he can have fun while pursuing specific objectives, not as a burden or an obligation. A passionate person is personally committed. A passionate person has a sparkle in his eyes when he talks about what excites him. People around a passionate person feel his energy, his enthusiasm. A passionate person goes that extra mile.

Training

Training is one of our priorities. When employees are hired, they all receive online training to familiarize themselves with the company and its products and services. But training is an ongoing process at SPI Health and Safety, so employees continue to receive regular training from suppliers as well as in-house and outside instructors. In addition, the company reimburses continuing education expenses for employees who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in their field of activity or in a related field. The company earmarks over 2% of payroll to personnel training.

Career Opportunities

When you join our team, the career opportunities available to you in our various departments and locations are endless. The company posts information on open positions on its intranet to facilitate every employee’s career development and professional growth. Over 50% of our managers started with the company as sales representatives and 100% of our regional managers were promoted internally.

Our Commitment to Communication

We are a company dedicated to the principle of the open door. We are committed to sharing as much information as possible, in a regular and transparent way. We understand how important information is. Thanks to the company’s intranet, quarterly meetings and biannual newsletter, we ensure that employees stay well informed about our products and services as well as the company’s strategies and results.
