Gordon has worked with many companies across Canada, including The Great Canadian Theatre Company (An Acre of Time), Native Earth (A Very Polite Genocide), Magnus Theatre (Dead White Writer on the Floor), and Theatre North West (Where The Blood Mixes). Other credits: Endgame (Theatre NFLD and Labrador); The Velveteen Rabbit (Theatre New Brunswick); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Stephenville Festival); Strange Humours (Eastern Front Theatre); The Devil’s Disciple (Neptune Theatre); Merlin (Halifax Theatre for Young People); Vigil (Live Bait Theatre); and as twins Edger and Ledger in Ivor Johnson’s Neighbours (Ship’s Company Theatre). He has appeared in five seasons at the Stratford Festival, including Simon in Mother’s Daughter, Paris in Romeo and Juliet,  Black Dog in Treasure Island, Egeon in The Comedy of Errors and Ezekiel Cheever in The Crucible. He also appeared as Edger in King Lear at the National Arts Centre, with August Schellenberg. (they/them) Theatre Calgary debut. Nick Miami Benz, Shapeshifter, Storyteller, Self. Nick is a Leo nominated performance artist trained in dances from the Afro,  Latinx and Indigenous diasporas with a focus on embodiment of animal movements. While studying dance in New York City they worked as an equestrian for The  Metropolitan Opera which inspired them to return to theatre as an actor and singer. Nick’s acting training is founded in Meisner technique and voice work through the Lovetri method. Their theatre credits include God’s Lake, Little Red Warrior, Blackhorse as well as working with Atomic Vaudeville, Mascall Dance, Netflix and John Fluevog. Nick Miami Benz shares their expertise in movement through holistic exercise coaching in Vancouver.

(she/her) Theatre Calgary debut. Luisa is filled with joy to be part of the team bringing the story of Little Red Warrior and His Lawyer to the stage. She was born to immigrant parents on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and  Səlíl̓wətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, where she still lives. Theatre Calgary debut. Kevin had the pleasure of seeing the original production of Little Red Warrior and His Lawyer some years ago at Studio 58 in Vancouver, and being in the first professional production last year at the Belfry in Victoria. Most recently he was on stage in The Father (The Search Party) (Jessie Award - Best Actor). Coming up is Stupid Fucking Bird (The Search Party) at the Cultch in Vancouver in April, then off to the NAC in Ottawa with Little Red in May. His recent film credits include Yellowjackets and Schmigadoon. In 1965 Kevin was part of St. Anthony’s Boys Choir in Calgary and remembers his first ‘studio session’ recording a ditty for the Hudson’s Bay Company’s 295th birthday. In the 1990s he shot various projects in Calgary for film and TV, including North of 60 and A Good Day To Die, working with Sidney Poitier.

For Theatre Calgary: The Humans. Shekhar is very happy to return to Theatre Calgary. After disappointing his family by not going into medicine, Shekhar has played doctors in many Film & TV shows, most recently as Dr. Hook in season 3 of Superman & Lois. He’s worked in theatres across Canada including: Bard on the Beach,  CanStage, Arts Club, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Belfry, Globe, Vancouver Playhouse, and ATP. Shekhar is also an author and playwright - his novel, An Extraordinary Destiny, was published in 2017 by Brindle & Glass; he’s had two children’s books published by Annick Press; and VACT recently produced a workshop of Shekhar’s new play about cancel culture and historic statues Gandhi & Churchill’s Excellent Adventure!

(he/him) Theatre Calgary debut. A member of the Nlaka’pamux Nation from the Lytton First Nation in British Columbia, Kevin is an award-winning actor, playwright  and producer. His first published play, Where the Blood Mixes has been nominated for numerous awards across the country winning three Jessie Richardson awards  for theatre in Vancouver and the 2009 Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama. Little Red Warrior was also recently awarded a 2022 Jessie Richardson Award for Outstanding Original Script. He was a Playwright in Residence at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa in 2010, as well as a company member of the National Arts Centre English Theatre Acting Company. Kevin played the villainous Edmund in the National Arts Centre’s production of King Lear, featuring a cast of Indigenous actors. Kevin is a graduate of Studio 58, Langara College’s professional Theatre training program, and is a senior member of Margo Kane’s Full Circle: First Nations Performance  Ensemble. In 2008 he co-wrote, co-produced and co-hosted the feature-length documentary, Canyon War: The Untold Story, which won top prizes at the Houston  International Film and Video Festival and The New York Independent Film and Video Festival. In 2017 he became the first Artistic Director of Indigenous Theatre at the National Arts Centre of Canada in Ottawa.

(he/him) Theatre Calgary debut. John is an award-winning Ottawa-based designer and theatre creator. After working many years as an actor, he transitioned to (nearly) exclusively set design. He has worked with every professional theatre company in Ottawa and Gatineau. In a year of firsts, he has designed for Tarmac des Auteurs (Democratic Republic of Congo), and will be designing for Satellite Théâtre in Moncton (New-Brunswick) and for La Fille du Laitier in Montreal (Quebec). Little Red Warrior and His Lawyer is his first design to visit Calgary. John is also the head carpenter and frequent designer for the Theatre Department of the University of Ottawa, and an associate artist for Theatre 4.669 and Théâtre Rouge Écarlate. (she/her) Theatre Calgary debut. Samantha is Anishinaabekwe from the Chippewas of Georgina Island and Ned’u’ten from Lake Babine First Nation. She grew up on the Musqueam Reserve in Vancouver, BC, and currently lives in Ottawa. Samantha graduated from York University’s Theatre Production program in 2017. Theatre Calgary debut. Jeff is the Technical Director of Kidd Pivot and will be travelling through four continents on an international tour of Revisor. He is a Vancouver based, four-time Jessie Award winning lighting designer for his work on Carousel Theatre’s Pharaoh Serket & the Lost Stone of Fire, Patrick Street Theatre’s Floyd  Collins, Pi Theatre’s Blasted and Arts Club’s Hand to God. Other lighting credits include Pi Theatre’s Beautiful Man, Patrick Street Theatre’s Batboy the Musical and The Full Monty, Urban Ink’s Children of God, Arts Club’s Beneath Springhill, and NAC Indigenous Theatre’s The Unnatural and Accidental Women. Jeff is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada (IATSE ADC659).

A sound designer and electronic music composer, Troy recently scored and designed the sound for the new CBC Gem series The Bannocking by Damien Eagle Bear, and designed the sound and produced the beats for the audio play Black Fly by Amy Lee Lavoie & Omari Newton. Upcoming, he will be doing the sound design and composition for Blithe Spirit at The Shaw Festival. Troy has created original music and/or sound design for over 50 theatrical  productions over the course of his career. Highlights include The Lamentable Tragedy of Sal Capone (NAC); The Rez Sisters (Belfry); and Buried Child (NAC/Segal Centre). Select Film/TV credits include sound design and original music for Looking at Edward Curtis (Knowledge Network); MIA (Salmon) (TIFF, VIFF); and sound design for documentary features The Road Forward, That Higher Level, True North - The Rise of Toronto Basketball (NFB); Grey Roads (HOTDOCS 2021). Troy has been nominated for a Soirée Des Masques Award, several Mecca and META Awards, and won the Jessie Richardson Award for Outstanding Sound Design for The Pipeline Project (ITSAZOO/Savage Society).

(she/her) Theatre Calgary debut. Tai Amy Grauman is Métis Cree from Ardrossan, Alberta. She is an actor, playwright, director and producer. Tai recently founded the Marie Collective along with Brittany Ryan and recently completed her thesis for her MFA in theatre practice at the U of A with a focus on her artistic research of ‘Metis women’s love stories’. This past summer, Savage Productions Society produced a large rural tour of her play You used to call me Marie... which went to rural Metis communities all over Alberta and Saskatchewan as well as Back to Batoche Days and Metis Crossing. Currently Tai is adapting Romeo and Juliet: A Metis love story as well as adapting her play You used to call me Marie… into a limited film series. Recent credits include: Mary’s Wedding a Metis love story (Citadel theatre), Assistant director for Little Red Warrior and his Lawyer (The Belfry and Savage Productions Society) and writer, co- director, producer and actor for the Alberta and Saskatchewan tour of You used to call me Marie... (Savage Productions Society).

(he/him) Theatre Calgary debut. Hailey is an Afro-Indigenous (Red River Métis) artist and theatre designer. Originally from Inuvik, NWT (on Inuvialuit and Gwich’in land), he trained at the National Theatre School of Canada in production design and technical arts. Lighting, video, watercolour, and digital artwork are his preferred media for storytelling. His primary passion is to support the development of Indigenous stories in Canada. He has been lucky enough to be involved with projects such as: Hush by Sylvia Cloutier (2020, NTS); Lovesong for the Thunderbirds by Summer Brasette (2021, Grand Theatre); The Herd by Kenneth Williams (2022, Citadel/Tarragon); Echoes of the Homesick Heart by Laura Michel (2022, WCT); Feather Gardens by Jimmy Blais (2022, Hudson Village Theatre); and Bentboy by Herbie Barnes (2022, YPT). (she/her) For Theatre Calgary: Comedy of Errors (Shakespeare by the Bow 2021), TC Sings for Pride! Becca is an Indo-Canadian settler born and raised on lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territory. As a Stage Manager, Becca has artistically supported teams across Canada from Theatre to Opera, to dance, and beyond. She is thrilled to be back at Theatre Calgary, and reunited with the Little Red Team. Becca is an avid half marathoner (2:27:12) and two-time marathoner (5:23:36), and holds a BFA in Theatre Production and Management from UVic. For more personal information, write to her mother.

(she/her) Theatre Calgary debut. Lacey is Oneida/Mohawk, Wolf Clan, from Six Nations of the Grand River Reservation. She is a singer/songwriter, and an  inspirational speaker. Her debut solo album, 528 was independently produced and released in 2013, which put her on the indie music radar and kick-started her career. 528 Volume II M was released in 2017 and took her across Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the UK in 2018-19. Lacey wrote original compositions for the stage play Deer Woman by Tara Beagan, where she also stage managed the production. Her single “The Shiner” (2020) premiered on APTN’s Amplify series, and she was  one of Rogers TV Highlight artists. Recently, Lacey has been acting on NDNS on the Airwaves Comedy Web Series (YouTube), and worked on songs for her third  album 528 Vol 3 The Moon, which is available on all streaming platforms.
