Province halts new evictions, postpones scheduled orders due to COVID-19

The Ministry of the Attorney General says sheriff’s offices have been asked to postpone any scheduled enforcement of eviction orders set for this week.

No new eviction orders will be issued until further notice in Ontario due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ministry of the Attorney General spokesperson Jesse Robichaud confirmed the news in an email to the Star Monday evening.
