Today, Mayor John Tory announced the launch of #Vax25, a COVID-19 vaccination push to promote vaccine clinics in each of the City of Toronto’s 25 wards on Saturday, October 2.

The campaign – which includes at least 35 vaccination clinic locations – is part of Team Toronto’s continued efforts to make COVID-19 vaccines as accessible as possible and to bring vaccines to where residents live, work and play.

#Vax25 will feature at least one clinic per ward supported and promoted by the ward’s City Councillor. The locations were selected by Toronto Public Health as part of the Team Toronto Mobile Strategy data approach to continue to remove barriers and bring vaccines to residents in areas and settings that have low vaccination coverage and to residents who are at high risk of contracting COVID-19. Locations were also chosen to facilitate easy access in places that are part of Torontonians’ everyday lives. The clinics will offer first and second COVID-19 vaccine doses and many do not require appointments. A full list of clinics can be found on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage.

The campaign is focused on continuing Team Toronto’s success helping residents get vaccinated. More than 80 per cent of eligible Toronto residents are now fully vaccinated and more than 85 per cent of residents have at least their first dose.

In addition to the #Vax25 clinics highlighted this weekend, mobile clinics are in operation across the city. A list of public mobile clinic opportunities is online.

Quotes:

“#Vax25 is a one-day, city-wide vaccination push in all 25 wards to help people get vaccinated. I appreciate the efforts of our City Councillors as they help bring Torontonians together to get vaccinated this Saturday and beyond. This is another example of the Team Toronto effort in action. I continue to urge eligible residents to get vaccinated now to help protect themselves and the progress we have made fighting this pandemic and reopening schools and businesses.”

– Mayor John Tory

“35-plus clinics across 25 wards: this is a data-driven, city-wide push to get Toronto vaccinated. By promoting an easily-accessible vaccine clinic in each of our City’s wards, #Vax25 is one more step in our commitment to bringing vaccines to everyone, everywhere. Thanks to my fellow Councillors and all ward residents for getting out there and getting us closer to our goal of reaching 90 per cent of eligible Torontonians being fully vaccinated.”

– Councillor Joe Cressy (Spadina-Fort York), Chair of the Board of Health

“Team Toronto continues to work hard to make it as convenient as possible for residents to get vaccinated in communities across all areas of our city. Thank you to all of our #Vax25 partners for bringing vaccine to where residents live, work and play, and to Torontonians who continue to roll their sleeves to get vaccinated and protect our city against COVID-19.  Your actions are helping us to keep moving forward towards ending this pandemic.”
