News Release
November 19, 2021

Vax The Holidays, Team Toronto’s latest vaccination campaign, will be helping people get vaccinated today and throughout this weekend.

Launched by Mayor John Tory on Wednesday, Vax The Holidays provides direct community access to COVID-19 vaccines at mobile clinics located at malls, shopping centres, community centres, schools, pharmacies and places of worship. Clinic locations continue to reflect a data-driven approach with a focus on convenient and accessible spots where large groups of people will gather for holiday shopping or celebrations.

The first push of this month-long vaccination campaign got underway on Wednesday and continues to Sunday, November 21. In this period, 14 community-centred walk-in clinics are operating across the city, each offering first, second and third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible residents born in 2009 or earlier.

Clinics that are open at various times today and over the weekend include:

  • Elmbank Community Centre – Sunday, November 21 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Lawrence Allen Centre – Today (Friday, November 19) from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 20 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Martin Grove Mall – Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21 from noon to 6 p.m.
  • North Kipling Community Centre – Today (Friday, November 19) from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Pelmo Park Community Centre – Today (Friday, November 19) from 2 to 6 p.m.
  • San Lorenzo Church – Saturday, November 20 from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Stockyards Village – Today (Friday, November 19) from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 20 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre – Saturday, November 20 from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Yonge Sheppard Centre – Today (Friday, November 19) from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 20 from noon to 6 p.m.

A full list of Vax The Holidays community-based clinic locations and operating hours – updated weekly – can be found on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage.

City-run clinics at Cloverdale Mall, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Mitchell Field Arena, Scarborough Town Centre and Woodbine Mall also offer first, second and third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as the influenza vaccine. These clinics are by appointment only and can be arranged through the provincial booking system online.

Bringing the vaccine to where people live, work and shop has resulted in the City administering 5,022,693 COVID-19 vaccine doses since December 2020. Currently, more than 85.1 per cent of eligible Toronto residents are fully vaccinated and 88.2 per cent of eligible residents have at least one dose of vaccine.

Quote:

“Vax The Holidays is all about making sure we have vaccination clinics that are easy and accessible to residents across the city. And it’s about making sure we put the vaccines where people are actually going to be and it’s not hard to know where people will be in the lead up to the holidays – they will be at malls, places of worship and other spots in the community. Thank you to every member of Team Toronto working to help people get their first, second or third doses this weekend. If you’re not fully vaccinated yet, please take the opportunity to get vaccinated this weekend to help protect yourself and the progress we have made.”

– Mayor John Tory
