Hammond River Park

Hammond River Park is located in Quispamsis, NB, and is one of the region’s most significant nature park assets. The current park encompasses more than 40 acres of green space with walking and hiking trails in a beautiful forest setting. The park gently slopes to a flourishing marshland and the adjacent Hammond River. Visitors can access the park’s campfire pit, barbecue, and picnic tables.

The Town of Quispamsis Recreation Master Plan identified Hammond River Park as an essential recreation asset and recommended sustainably increasing its use and expanding it as the Town grows. The plan also recommended providing safe water access to the river for paddle sports.

The Town recently acquired the additional land recommended in the Recreation Master Plan and is now developing a master plan for Hammond River Park to guide the expansion and development of the park over the coming years.

Recreation Master Plan PROPOSED Projects:

  • Expand the park by acquiring vacant land located to the south of the existing park.

  • Improve and expand the trail network, including new entrances and walking routes.

  • Work with regional residents to develop a Hammond River Paddle Club facility that includes a visitor pavilion, removable dock, and water access ramps.

  • Develop an entrance lane and parking area that serves the existing park and the future paddle facility.
