Street Reach Volunteer

Downtown Squamish [map]
3-3 hours / monthly
This is an ongoing role.
Do you believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect? Do you want to play an active role in bringing your community together? We're looking for kind and compassionate people that are looking to make a positive change.

In this role, you will walk around the downtown neighborhood, meeting people and seeking out those in need of assistance. You will pass out survival and harm-reduction supplies to those that need them, check in with people to see how they're doing, and collect observations and feedback from the people you encounter.

This is a very dynamic and engaging role with the opportunity to have a big impact in helping to shape the culture of the downtown core. You will learn a great deal about local social services, trauma-informed care, harm reduction and more. No previous experience is necessary—we will provide training and support, including First Aid and Naloxone training.

We encourage duos to volunteer together, so feel free to get your partner, friends, family and colleagues involved. It's great team building (and a wonderful way to contribute to positive change in your community).

Shifts are 3-hours in length (6:00pm–9:00pm) Mon., Wed., and Fri., with a flexible self sign-up schedule. We require a minimum of 3 hours per month.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Meet new people, contribute to creating a strong, vibrant and inclusive community, with training and support. Learn more about local social services, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, conflict resolution and more. Receive invitations to Under One Roof training workshops and volunteer events.
