About
I am a M.Sc. Neuroscience (IPN) student at McGill University, completing a thesis under the supervision of Dr. Aparna Nadig in the Psychology of Pragmatics Lab (POP Lab), School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. My thesis aims to understand how persuasive discourse may differ between autistic and neurotypical youth, and how the listener’s perception of the persuasive argument may colour the judgements of its effectiveness. This can inform how both autistic and neurotypical youth can adequately convey information in social situations to get the desired change they want as they develop their sense of identity and their expression of their values, morals, and opinions. I previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics with a double minor in French literature and psychology at McGill University.
Interested in the diagnosis and treatment of voice, speech, language and oropharyngeal function disorders, I aspire to lead a career in speech-language pathology. As a speech-language pathologist assistant, I am an adaptable leader and an eager learner with strong communication skills that will extend beyond expectation and will think outside of the box.
